The death records of Scott Co, Va, covering the period of 1871 - 1896 have not been readily available for research.   The available loose sheets were bound and placed on a shelf in the courthouse.  However, many of the written records have been lost, and are available only on microfilm   The microfilm is very poor quality for several years with some pages totally unreadable. 

This project is the reading of the microfilm, typed and entered in ledger form.   It gives all the information listed including

  • Full Name
  • Death Date & Place
  • Cause of Death & Age
  • Birth Place & Occupation
  • Parents names 
  • Informant & Relationship 

Index includes the Name and the year of death with the number on the listing.
